Discontinuous diafiltration (Discontinuous DF)

Process of adding water to the retentate to reduce the concentration of permeable solids in the retentate. The volume of retentate is reduced through filtration and water then added to dilute the retentate to a ceratin volume. The retentate is then filtered again. The process of repetitive dilution followed by filtration is known as discontinuous diafiltration.
