ADPI Welcomes John A. “Andy” Powers as Vice President of Technical Services

The American Dairy Products Institute (ADPI) is pleased to announce that Andy Powers has joined the team as the new Vice President of Technical Services.

Powers brings over 30 years of commercial, scientific, and technical experience including quality assurance, regulatory and food safety experience to ADPI.

No stranger to the dairy industry or to ADPI, Andy served as the commercial manager of specialty ingredients & proteins for Hoogwegt U.S. / Lone Star Dairy, where he was responsible for managing and expanding Hoogwegt’s specialty ingredients portfolio with new, complementary ingredients in the dairy space. During his time with Hoogwegt, Andy was a member of ADPI’s technical and standards committees. Prior to joining ADPI, Powers served as the Vice President and Senior Consultant for Newton Enterprises, Inc., and also held positions at Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), Akorn Pharmaceuticals, and Biosys Biotech, Inc.

“We are pleased to welcome Andy Powers to the ADPI team to lead our continuing efforts in technical development, including development of ingredient standards and methods of analysis as well as being a member of our unique Center of Excellence,” states Blake Anderson, ADPI President and CEO.

Powers is a two-time graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and holds both a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology, and a Master of Business Administration.

Powers is a Certified Lead Auditor & Practitioner – Safe Quality Food (SQF) Institute; a Certified Lead Auditor – HACCP & ISO 9001; and is currently a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Society for Quality and the Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society.
