Molecular weight cut-off (MWCO)

Separating potential of a membrane typically used to describe ultrafiltration (UF) and microfiltration (MF) membranes. A rejection of 90% of a component of a given molecular weight often is used to determine the separating characteristics of a membrane. Example: A membrane with a 20,000 MWCO would reject 90%
of the components with a molecular weight of 20,000 daltons or greater.
